Youth Group

In addition to the many informal learning opportunities we have in our religious school, we also have our youth group programming to encourage more socialization and community building for our children.

As a member of the Union for Reform Judaism, URJ, we are also part of NFTY-North American Federation of Temple Youth.  Our region is known as NFTY-PAR, Pennsylvania Area Region. This enables our children to participate in regional and national events with hundreds of teens from across the country.

  • BAFTY678 (Beth Am Federation of Temple Youth for 6th, 7th and 8th graders)
    • Our youth group for 6th, 7th and 8th graders gives young teens a chance to develop strong peer connections in their Jewish community and to continue nurturing their leadership skills.  Any Jewish 6th, 7th or 8th grader in our area is welcome to join us.  BAFTY678 also participates in regional junior youth events through NFTY-PAR678.
  • BAFTY (Beth Am Federation of Temple Youth)
    • Our youth group for 9th-12th graders gives young teens a chance to develop strong peer connections in their Jewish community and to continue nurturing their leadership skills. This youth-led organization includes on-the-job board training for teen leaders.  Programming is conceptualized, planned and facilitated by youth, for youth.  BAFTY also participates in regional youth group events through NFTY-PAR. Any Jewish high school student in our area is welcome to join us.
  • High Holy Days (Grades 6-12)
    • Teens as young as 6th grade and as old as seniors in high school are invited to join BAFTY for an engaging, teen-led service in the Temple Beth Torah Chapel at 10:30 a.m. both on the morning of Rosh Hashanah and on the morning of Yom Kippur.

Many of our youth programs take place in our beautiful in the Rovinsky Family Youth Lounge.  You could meet your best friend at youth group!
