With over 40 years of experience in Early Childhood Education, Sherrie Turetsky brings passion, warmth, and deep expertise to both her roles at Old York Road Temple-Beth Am. A lifelong educator, Sherrie always knew she wanted to teach—starting with playing “school” in her childhood basement and volunteering at Temple Beth Torah’s summer camp.
Sherrie served as Director of Temple Beth Torah’s preschool for 20 years—the very school she once attended—before its merger with Beth Am in 2004. She holds a B.A. in Early Childhood and Elementary Education and a master’s degree in Education from Beaver College (now Arcadia University). She also spent eight years co-directing the Lower Moreland Parenting Center, leading parenting workshops and group discussions.
Known as a hands-on, heart-first leader, Sherrie is committed to creating a nurturing, safe, and enriching environment where every child can thrive. As both Executive Director of the Congregation and Director of the School of Early Learning, she works closely with families and staff to ensure that Beth Am is truly a Beit Am—a house of the people, and a home away from home for every child.
