We write to you today with heavy hearts following the tragic news that two staff members of the Israeli embassy, Sarah Milgrim (26) and Yaron Lischinsky (30), were murdered last night in a shocking act of antisemitic violence. Our thoughts and prayers are with their families, loved ones, and colleagues, as well as with the broader Israeli diplomatic community during this time of grief and mourning.
These devastating events remind us, yet again, of the fragility of peace and the ever-present need to stand in solidarity against hatred and terror. As a synagogue community deeply connected to the Jewish people and the State of Israel, we share in this sorrow and reaffirm our commitment to life, dignity, and resilience.
We also want to take this moment to reassure you that the safety and security of our congregation is our priority. We are in regular communication with local law enforcement and Jewish security agencies and continue to follow best practices to ensure that our campus remains a safe and welcoming space for prayer, learning, and gathering.
In moments like this, our strength comes from one another.
May the memories of Sarah Milgrim and Yaron Lischinsky be a blessing, and may peace and safety soon prevail for all.
